Alistair Morgan has over 18 years' experience as a financial services and corporate lawyer, having worked for Citi, UBS, Macquarie and the Australian Securities & Investments Commission.
During his time at Citi he was the Head of Legal – Institutional Clients Group, where he worked across investment banking, capital markets, equities and fixed income trading and was Regional Co-Chairperson of the Asia Pacific New Product Approval Committee.

Structured Products that Alistair has helped bring to market include both capital protected and capital at risk products across equities, fixed income and commodities. More recently Alistair has advised on and helped structure financial products for quotation on the AQUA Market operated by ASX. This included helping to develop Exchange Traded Bond units (XTBs), which deliver retail investors access to high quality fixed income investments previously only available to wholesale investors.

Offshore issuance by Australian corporates.
Landmark transactions include the Wells Fargo Bank, N.A. A$ 2 Billion issuance and the Citigroup, Inc A$ 1 Billion issuance.
He has advised on derivatives transactions relating to:

This included total return equity swaps, inflation hedging for public private partnerships and interest rate swaps.
Alistair and the team working with him have advised on large bank lending transactions to Australian corporates, including distressed situations.
In addition to primary market transactions, Alistair has advised businesses involved in the secondary market trading of financial products, both exchange traded and Over-the-Counter markets, including equities, options, futures, bonds, loans, commodities and currencies. He also has experience working with securities lending, repurchase agreements and prime broking.
Alistair has been a member of a number of Australian Financial Markets Association committees, including the Documentation Committee and the Product Approval Committee.
Education
Alistair holds a Bachelor of Economics degree from Flinders University, a Bachelor of Laws from the Northern Territory University and a Master of Laws degree from the University of Sydney. He is a member of the Law Society of NSW.
